This is a nice looking swing bridge that no longer operates for boats and has had its bridge tender and machinery building removed. However it otherwise retains good historic integrity. The swing span is 361 feet long. The bridge serves light traffic in a park setting, making it an outstanding long-term preservation candidate. On either end of the swing span is a Parker through truss approach span each 139 feet long. There also is a series of short approach spans at the northern end of the bridge that are concrete t-beam spans in design. The bridge is listed as the longest highway swing span in California.
