Halloween was a very special time for area students in the 1950s. Schools sponsored fairs and haunted houses, and classrooms enjoyed costume contests and parties with lots of treats. Pictured here is a young teacher revealing the secret of a jack-o’-lantern to some rather eerily costumed children at the new Croissant Park Elementary School.
