Mickey Pylon

Atlas Obscura

The Mickey Pylon is a well-known landmark in Celebration, Florida, a master-planned community just outside of Walt Disney World Resort in the Orlando-Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area. Connected directly to the parks, the community was developed by the Walt Disney Company.

A free-standing steel tube pylon made of a loop with two smaller adjoining loops, the Mickey Pylon resembles Walt Disney's iconic Mickey Mouse. It's used to feed a substation near the intersection of the Florida 417 Toll Road and Celebration's World Drive. One power line runs northward over Gaylord Palms Resort to the Intercession City Power Plant while another runs southward to the Pearce Road Substation.
