Palm Sunday Snow, 1942

Arcadia

On Palm Sunday, at the end of March 1942, the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area was hit by a most unusual snowstorm. Legendary to this day and not repeated, snow blanketed the Ellicott City area and made travel challenging. In 2006, Palm Sunday looked a lot more like we have come to expect, with green grass, budding trees, and pedestrians out and about in their light jackets.
