Jamestown Dock, 1966

Arcadia

In this photograph, taken in the summer of 1966, a family walks toward Jamestown Dock to spend an afternoon swimming in Lake Cumberland. The continually growing number of people enjoying the lake encouraged many marinas and docks to expand their size in the 1960s. Today many visitors come from Ohio and have become referred to as the “Ohio Navy.” (Courtesy of Debbie Lake.)
