Probably most easily characterized by its steeple-like clock tower and arcade, the Whizin Center, now Whizin Market Square, has undergone many transformations over the years. Nowadays, the area’s oldest shopping center is home to a renowned antique mall, the Canyon Club concert venue, and Hugo’s Restaurant, in addition to numerous shops and restaurants. Owner Bill Tucker plans to bring the building, which is currently undergoing a multi-phase renovation, into the 21st century but still maintain its unique Western architecture. “It’s going to be gorgeous,” he said in a 2011 media interview. “It was a dark space, dark and dusty and dated. And we’re making it bright, white and light.” Whizin Market Square is located at 28914 Roadside Drive (Pascal & Senator Pavley, 2013).
