Aerial View of Hollywood Boulevard, 1920s

Arcadia

This 1920s view of Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood area shows the Hotel Regent in the lower right at 6162 Hollywood Boulevard. Christie Realty Corporation, operated by Al and Charles Christie, built the hotel in 1925 for an estimated $500,000. It was on this site, when it was still an orange grove, that Nestor Company, of which Al Christie was manager and comedy director, did the first motion pictures shot in Hollywood.
