This peninsula that stretches out into Osoyoos lake is so popular the campground sells out in minutes every year. Off the peninsula is the sand bar where you can walk at knee-to-waist level to the other side of the lake, aside from a short swimming section where boats get through.
It is a beautiful walk through this park and you can let your dog cool down in the water in one of the town’s designated dog swim areas. Picnics are also popular in this area with visitors and locals taking advantage of the many picnic tables overlooking the water.
There is a self-guided interpretive trail through the marsh area which contains blue-listed species such as the Painted Turtle, Barn owl, Spadefoot toad and Western small footed myotis bat. It also contains Tiger Salamanders, a red-listed species.
