Harvest

The bistro opened in December 2012, and by now this place is very well known amongst Viennese for its delicious vegan cuisine and charming interior – make sure to pay the toilet a visit!

I am not vegan but I do love mouth-watering meals like the ones you get here. Besides the food I also like one other thing: the outdoor area or on rainy days the huge window to look out on Karmeliterplatz. You happen to see men in black with big hats and sidelocks? You should know, many (Orthodox) Jews call Vienna's second district their home – if you're looking for kosher dining, you might want to check Bahur Tov or Simchas.

Back to Harvest now before getting lost in the where-to-eat-out-next-shuffle. From 12:00 to 14:30 they provide a daily changing lunch buffet, usually announced on their Facebook page in the morning. Besides the buffet there are also standard dishes like goulash with bread dumplings or vegetable curry with potatoes. On Sundays I suggest you check out their brunch. Ingredients are carefully selected by the Harvest crew, organic and as eco-friendly as possible.

On Saturdays, Sundays and most holidays: why not enjoy a vegan brunch for once?

"Mahlzeit!" [maːltsaɪt] - "Enjoy your meal!" [ɪnˈdʒɔɪ jər ˈmiːl!] - "Bon appétit" [bɔ̃n- apetit].
